Menstruation or also known periods, that word mostly known females. Menstruation usually starts around the age of 12, sometimes happen early at 8, but last is 15 year age enough. Menstruation is a natural part of women’s life. It’s’ a process that every people should know about this. But mostly people feels shamed for discuss about or talking about this, mostly a girl or girls parents and boys. She was also told that washing hair during periods causes swelling in the uterus, touching pickles or spices makes it bad, and that touching a boy during periods makes him impure, all these things are wrong.

Aditi once told in her life “People are ashamed of talking about periods, and that’s what we’re trying to change. It has been our biggest win”.

Introduction :-

Aditi Gupta was born in Garhwa in Jharkhand, India. Aditi Gupta is a Indian Author, and co-founder of Menstrupedia Comic. She also a menstrual educator. She is a social entrepreneur. And inspiration for every female, she educate people about menstruation, menstruation cycle, hygiene and more. You can also visit on Menstrupedia.

Education & Early Life :-

Aditi Gupta completed her graduation in engineering. After she completed her postgraduation in media design from the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad. She founded menstrupedia with her husband. Her husband name is Tuhin Paul, she met him in National institute of Design. During attending postgraduation they both worked on lots of projects with together. They found that there’s lack of awareness about menstruation even in most educated people. She started Menstrupedia, drawing on her experiences during her teenage years.

She started menstruating at 12 age. She was following all age-old traditions while menstruating, like not touch to or not go worship place, wash and dry clothes by herself and on different place, do not touch pickle, stay away from people, etc. Even she was not allowed to use sanitary pads. Sanitary pads are also available in the market, but they believed that buying them would jeopardize the family’s reputation. At the age of 15 she bought her first sanitary pad.

Career :-

After showing that lack of awareness and less education about menstruation, this thing motivated her to do deep research on it. She started with collecting information from doctors and women’s about that. And later she got an idea to start a comic book. First she put her comic book on website name www.talesofchange.in. In 2012 Aditi Gupta and her husband started menstrupedia to spread deep knowledge and awareness about menstruation. They started project while they are in National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. That website has developed as a platform of providing information about pre-teens and sexuality for teenagers.

About Menstrupedia :-

Menstrupedia is a name of comic book, which helps to people to know about menstruation or periods. Also known as a friendly guide to menstruation, and menstruation hygiene. Main purpose of website to provide information quickly to each and very people, also its a easy way to understand through Digitally. That website also containe some blogs and question answers with books. In 2018 Menstrupedia comic book are available in 14 languages & utilized in more than 18 countries.

Aditi Gupta started distribute comic book in schools of Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad and Ranchi, in this schools all girls and with their parents and teachers liked that a lot. Menstrupedia has started several campaigns, also collaboration with Whisper India like “Touch the Pickle movement” in collaboration with actress Shraddha Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Kalki Koeclin, Neha Dhupia, Mandira Bedi many more…. Aditi Gupta was listed on the Forbes India 30 under 30 list.

One lakh visitors visits Menstrupedia every month. Menstrupedia comic book used by some NGOs like Protsahan.
